Puntland security forces recapture the Af-urur village which Alshabab captured three days ago after government forces retreated from the village.
After two days, they have surrendered back the village without any resistance, the locals have reported.
The Puntland Vice President, Ahmed Elmi Osman Karaash, visited the security forces who retook the village’s control from the militants.
Puntland security forces suffered heavy losses in the village after dawn time attack Alshabaab killed at least 52 soldiers two years ago. Since then Alshabaab captured the area from the government forces twice before they withdrew without resistance.
Alshabaab and Islamic State also claimed responsibility of several bomb attacks and assassinations in Bossaso.
